FORECASTING AND CARRYING OUT NATURE PROTECTING ARRANGEMENTS IN THE ZONES OF INFLUENCE OF TAJIK ALUMINUM PLANT
Abstract:
Tajik Aluminum Plant (TAP) was built and begins to work in 1975, which is situated in the southwest of the Republic of Tajikistan, 8-10 km from the border with the Republic of Uzbekistan. Product power of the TAP is 517 thousand ton of technical aluminium per year. Raw material for obtaining aluminium is bauxite, which is brought from foreign countries. The main waste of the TAP to the open environment is fluorine hydrogen. Among other pollutants released to the air are carbon oxides, sulfur dioxides, nitrogen oxides and dust. Priorities of the fluorine identified with its high chemical and biological activity and diversity of their possibly compounds, ability of migration in contiguous to the environment. In conditions of expanding scale of natural environment pollution of Surkhandarya region with fluorine, waste by TAP has special significance in the ecological situation and carrying out nature protection arrangements.
The principles of the situation:
Aim of the proposed project is the complex system research of distribution law for fluorine in the contiguous environment (air atmosphere, soil, water and plants), and drawing-up scientific-practical recommendations for protection and rational use of natural resources in the zones under the influence of ecological damage of TAP.
The basic tasks of the project:
In the basis conducted researches will be obtained new data about quality of ecosystem of distribution of fluorine in the atmosphere air, soil, water and plants.
Scientific-practical recommendations will be given for further development of different branches of national economy in the influenced zones ecologically hazardous enterprises TAP.
The scientists of the Termez State University are carrying out scientific-practical works since 1985, on controlling, estimation, and forecasting of air pollution, soil plants ecology of south regions, including zones under the influence of TAP by using modern physic-chemical analysis.
Highly sensitive potentiometer methods were developed for determination fluorine in environmental objects. A group of scientists will be involved in carrying out these work tasks, three Doctors of sciences and more than 10 PhD. On this theme were published more than 200 scientific articles by the scientists of the university. Results of the researches in this field have been reported in 9 International and Republican conferences and symposia. Participants in carrying out this project will be the regional department of "ECOSAN", SANIGMI (Central Asian Hydrometeorology Institute) named after V. Bugaeva, Surkhandarya Region Sanitation and Epidemiological Station and Regional Committee of Nature Protection. Results will be given to organizations of agro-industrial complexes, Ministry of Health Protection and State Committee of Nature of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
