Task 7. Integration of both groundwater models and prognosis of future development. The aim of the task is to understand the influence of groundwater discharge on the ecological stability of the environment under intensive human activities. Therefore, both groundwater models will be combined to an integrated surface and subsurface model. This model will be able to estimate groundwater discharge into the Aral Sea, evapotranspiration, changing water chemistry, as well as nitrogen and pesticide fluxes and impact of manmade changes.

Expected results: The integrated model will be able to explain the complex hydrological processes in the Aral Sea area. This is a fundamental basis for any further measures and especially task 8.
