| 2. The ASIAED project in respond to the MDGs further promotes the UNESCO approach needed at all levels of society to devise options for a future based on the concepts of sustainability, equity, justice and peace. A coherent understanding of the world's problems is the starting point for developing a new global consciousness to drive changes in behaviour and lifestyles. Likewise, such a perspective is the basis for the development of options for informed decision-making to manage the transition to sustainability locally, nationally and globally.
3. All levels and involving all stakeholders, ASIAED encapsulates existing ESD practices for use as a basis and identify gaps in knowledge and its further coherent applications. It compliments existing structured forums through open dialogue, further supporting long-term, close cooperation with communities, including the most vulnerable population groups. |
