Document Life-Cycle Management
EMonument is contributing to the effort of developing a technology to scan crucial documents efficiently so they can be achieved and transmitted off-screen, by e-mail attachment or fax in order to assist in the provision of continued access to and preservation of digital heritage and cultural objects. Our aims are to assist in the proposed DLM-Network and DigiCULT Resources, which will further contribute to the wider Community aims of exploiting more fully the benefits of the information society.
The proposed network will also contribute significantly to the identification of areas of digital
document lifecycle management and access to public information requiring further research
and investigation, and standardisation and regulation. In addition, the knowledge base
developed will assist in the identification of new areas of e-initiative that can be stimulated to
create employment and to bring the European Union to the forefront of the information
industry.
The DLM Network will also reinforce and complement the objectives of the eEurope2005
initiative which aims to provide an Information Society for all in the areas of egovernment,
ehealth and elearning to create a more dynamic business environment, with secure
information infrastructure and availability of broadband access.
