Asia Education Project (ASIAED)

Assists in supporting the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, and in particular UNESCOs Community Learning Centres (CLC), and Asia and Pacific Programme of Education for All (APPEAL),
which is a regional co-operative programme designed to promote literacy.

ASIAED Project Asia Education: The NGO, non-profit ASIAED assists in supporting the UN Millennium Development Goals.

Aim 6: Enhancing research and knowledge-sharing

The ASIAED Plan of Implementation emphasizes the importance of capacity building in all areas of sustainable development and calls for better resourced, more effective, coordinated and complementary capacity building activities and cooperation in poverty alleviation and sustainable development programs.

UNESCO leads the global Education for All (EFA) movement, aiming to meet the learning needs of all children, youth and adults by 2015.

This ASIAED system wide mechanism for enhancing cooperation decided to focus on related capacity building activities of developing communities to identify the needs and gaps and potentials for further synergies and cooperation.

Related to this, the ASIAED is considering possibilities for facilitating the coordinated exchange of information and data (lessons learned, experiences and methodologies) concerning capacity building in enhancing research and knowledge-sharing and is exploring the possibility of establishing an information exchange mechanism within the existing framework.
