Joint Research Centre Romania
EMonument is contributing to the effort of developing a Joint Research Center with the Art University and Romanian Academy, Institute of Biology, Bucharest in order to assist in the provision of continued access to and preservation of digital heritage and monitoring of cultural objects. Our aims are to assist in the proposed Data Life (DLM) Network e-Europe Action Plan, which will further contribute to the wider Community aims of exploiting more fully the benefits of the information society.
The proposed network will also contribute significantly to the identification of areas of digital
document lifecycle management and access to public information requiring further research
and investigation, and standardisation and regulation.
The JTRC Network will also reinforce and complement the objectives of the eEurope2005
initiative which aims to provide an Information Society for all in the areas of egovernment,
ehealth and elearning to create a more dynamic business environment, with secure
information infrastructure and availability of broadband access including the cultural heritage domain.

Contact person for the JRC DLM is Prof. Dr. Ioana Gomoiu, who works as a full professor at the School of Ecology and Art Academy and for research in the Institute of Biology, Bucharest with over 25 years of experience studying the biology of fungi and moulds.
