EMonument Projects

How You Can Take Part

Contact us if you are interested in working with us concerning our activities in developing communities. EMonument's objectives are to:

  • Promote the exchange of experience as well as the formation of contacts and networks among NGOs;
  • Encourage technological and scientific cooperation internationally;
  • Strengthen networking capacities in the fields of technology and science;
  • Foster the accomplishments of scientific merit within the wider international framework;
  • Contribute to the implementation of infrastructure development concerning policy management within NIS and CEECs countries, Mediterranean partners, developing countries, emerging economy and industrialised countries including further development of GRID technologies and applications.

    Cultural Heritage; Environment and Sustainable Development
    This project will centre around key actions including sustainable management and quality of the environment, including climate and biodiversity and the impact on cultural heritage, cleaner energy systems, including renewables, economic and efficient energy.
    EMonument is an active member with the CORDIS and INTAS Community and are at present involved in several quality assurance projects. The Fifth and Sixth Framework Programme (FP5, FP6) sets out the priorities for the European Union's research, technological development and demonstration (RTD) activities for the period 1998-2002 for the FP5 and 2002-2006 for the FP6. These priorities have been selected on the basis of a set of common criteria reflecting the major concerns of increasing industrial competitiveness and the quality of life for European citizens.

    GRID Technologies and Applications through CORDIS
    Development, integration and validation of Grid technologies and their applications in research, industry and for addressing societal challenges. Work will range from GRID technology building blocks to Grid-related middleware and large scale applications. It will also include test beds for computational GRIDs which is the basic layer for harnessing processing power by distributing massive computational tasks to numerous resources (compute cycles and data storage) over matching communication links. Information and knowledge GRIDs allowing access to dispersed information, and knowledge discovery and extraction from spread knowledge resources. They make use of cognitive techniques and tools such as data mining, machine learning, content semantics, ontology engineering, information visualisation and intelligent agents.

    HACCP Overview (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
    The HACCP System is a systematic approach to the identification, assessment of risk and severity, and control of the biological, chemical and physical hazards associated with a particular food production process or practice

    QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) PROGRAM PLAN
    EMonument aims to expand the policy of the current and evolving needs of Quality System Management. The requirements for Quality Assurance and implementation of organizational or programmatic management systems pertaining to quality which contains the minimum requirements for the mandatory EMonument-wide Quality System. Quality assurance is a system of management activities to ensure that a process, item, or service is of the type and quality needed by the user.

    UN ICT Task Force 'Europe and Central Asia' Regional Networks
    EMonument works in accordance with the UN ICT guidelines in establishing projects, which include integrating sustainable development into community cooperation policy aimed at implementing proper infrastructure development schemes.

    International Knowledge Exchange Network, (IKAN)
    This Network is not based on technology but rather the commitment to the methods of data exchange to assist in local "Community Outreach" projects. IKAN relies upon the capability of environmental networks to moderate and then outline the exact format in which knowledge based information will be exchanged. Responsibility for data quality will be categorically determined and documented by each network which will be accountable for managing the information origin on the network that can administer this data upon authorized request.

    Stewardship Program (STEP)
    New proposals and methods are now required to replace outdated and inapplicable procedures and secure sustainable resources and financial structures. These new methods contrive of establishing a stewardship program within the targeted communities which gain current as well as prearrange usable data and techniques. The stewardship program will assist governmental agencies by installing locally organized affiliates which provide feedback to STEP thereby relieving specific bureaucratic management duties. The Stewardship Program (STEP) will then establish a networking system which will then monitor all aspects pertaining to environmental developments.
