Supporting its UN coordination role, UNDP implements programmes mainly in five interrelated development areas where it has extensive expertise:

UNESCO leads the global Education for All (EFA) movement, aiming to meet the learning needs of all children, youth and adults by 2015.

Poverty reduction programmes emphasize equitable growth, inclusive globalization and the achievement of the MDGs.
The HIV and AIDS practice aims to curb the epidemic.
