Millennium Development Goals Resources on CDROM
The eight MDGs - which range from halving extreme poverty to halting the spread of HIV/AIDS and providing universal primary education, all by the target date of 2015 - form a blueprint agreed to by all the world's countries and the entire world's leading development institutions. They have galvanized unprecedented efforts to meet the needs of the worlds poorest.

UNESCO leads the global Education for All (EFA) movement, aiming to meet the learning needs of all children, youth and adults by 2015.

CDROM contents:
Capacity-building, information collection/sharing, and advocacy are three key cross-cutting strategies in expanding educational works in the region.

The United Nations MDGs synthesise, in a single package, many of the most important commitments made separately at the international conferences and summits of the 1990s and recognises explicitly the interdependence between growth, poverty reduction and sustainable development.
