EMonument is contributing to the efforts in the development of a Cultural Heritage Support Action Plan whose objectives are to enhance the awareness of, and support for, Uzbekistan's culture and through that, help strengthen economic growth and assist in establishing the implementation plans for sustainable innovative measures. The IKAN database systems for the sustainable management of cultural heritage properties will be established and assimilated with data retrieved from with non-destructive testing (NDT) by means of remote monitoring devices. This IKAN 'Method' toolkit for re-habilitating historic buildings, Cultural Heritage Assessment Tool (CHAT), the Critical Activities and Monitoring Elements in Technology (CAMET) tools, and the Defining the Scope of an Infestation Study into Wet and Dry Rot Through the Fungal-Grid Layout (DSIS) coupled with the Global Mapping Matrix Model (GMAM) will collect the data and distributed it through appropriately designed portals. The second component will strengthen of the capacity of the agencies involved in the preservation and restoration of historical monuments and include training of restorers, stocking archival equipment, and computerizing the archives.
