Division for Water and Human Resources
EMonument is working with the Division for Water and Human Resources which conducts Quality Assurance Data Management and assisting with the implementation of the Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council by establishing a framework for the Community action in the field of water policy or short the EU Water Framework Directive.
Our Primary Aim:
Promoting a network development system for the European Water Policy and Water Framework Directive as indicated by the EU directive:
Expanding the scope of water protection to all waters, surface waters and groundwater
Achieving "good status" for all waters by a set deadline
Water management based on river basins
"Combined Approach" of emission limit values and quality standards
Getting the prices right
Getting the citizen involved more closely
Streamlining legislation;
EMonument's goals also include:
To illustrate the need for water management;
Show how water supply and the need for sharing and demands are vital;
Encourage development and influence innovative debate and discussion;
Indicate our troubled and polluted water ways;
Restore our waters with new ideas and understanding.
